I like to imagine after Scar lost his Roar it was hinted he was shriveled snd weak right? Maybe the hyenas swooped in to befriend him or Scar realized how he could use these guys. After healing, he returns home seeking "redemption" and acts it well.
It’s possible that him shriveling hinted to him being much healthier than he was in the first film before he lost the roar. Judging by how the hyenas looked in the painting, they likely were on the attack if he kept them out of the Pride Lands but as you said Scar probably saw potential in them if he provided them with meat as payment(As we saw in the opening scene of Be Prepared). With him no longer possessing his strength, he likely resorted to henchmen to get his jobs done.
Am I the only one who is sort of sick of the evil!Kion or crazy!Kion theories out there about his roar? Or how he womanizes? I just don't see Kion doing any of that myself...

These people seem to forget just how innocent this child is and just how terrified he is of becoming Scar.
I suddenly had a idea for explaining where's Kion in Simba's Pride and stuff~ plus the Guard maybe~ like Kion has insecurities obviously stemming to Scar right so maybe he leaves suddenly without telling anyone, feeling like the pride is better off

Continuation - Fuli to find Kion in the wake of Zira, saying Kion blocked out the Great Kings. Fuli goes to find him with the rest of the Guard after telling them to get their act together ~ that’s my new idea ~ thoughts? ?

That’s an interesting take alright! And I like that it didn’t involve Zira killing anyone. I could see Kion having found himself having done something terrible (Like Never Roar Again) to where it eats at him till he has to take a leave of absence without letting anyone know so he could clear his head only for it to blow up without him in control. He is the glue that keeps the team together.
