I know, but if you can afford it - it's worth trying. I'm famillar with many Polish webcomic artist that began to sue buisness pages that used their art for promotion (not even selling merch with the art itself) and they pretty much always with the case. And I tell you Polish law is not the best law xD
That’s good to know. But I wonder if you can get successful going against big companies like Google(Who own websites like Youtube, Blogger/Blogspot, and Google+), who refuse to listen to your DMCAs or C&Ds.
PSA: If you are contacting people whose art has been stolen to sell gadgets on Etsy, FB, Tshirt stores etc. - Tell them to hire a lawyer and take a legal step. It may be stresful and require some money on start but it's a win case. Not only rewarding to artist (mentaly, and eventualy monetary) but probably the only way for the fanart sellers to stop.

I hated the concept for the Emoji Movie but I didn’t blame the VAs. Because of this kind of behavior, TJ Miller was put on suicide watch because he was depressed over this kind of hate he received on Twitter. Nah, don’t blame the voice actors.
The actors and actresses don’t deserve this hate. They’re just trying to earn a living like the rest of us. Don’t become a Sheldon Cooper.
