Fuck yea terrible Lion King fandom

You know where I can find that new SP concept art? That sounds really cool!

My usual tactic to find new concept art is to type in ‘X production art’ where x is the name of the film. Unfortunately I’ve lost where the image was first shared on dA.

Wattpad is bad too. I had to contact an art thief on there to take down Megaman artwork that belonged to not only myself but three other people. Thanfully, they took the whole story. But yeah, I also contacted the artists in question and while they were polite about it, they were NOT happy.

Aminoapps is also bad. There’s some people out there on that site that will say they understand you don’t want their art used, but do it anyway behind your back.

Sasamaru-lion? I think I may follow them on twitter because it sounds eerily similar. You know who they are at all?

Aside from their drawing cub porn with Simba and Scar, they’ve got pretty good art. If you ignore that side of grossness.

So I just saw a snippet of the last moments of the Lion Guard. Have you yet? If so, what are your thoughts?

You can watch the new episodes here https://watchtlg.netlify.com/watch?v=12573183

I’ve been binging. I’ve only seen two episodes in since the new episodes dropped and am at S3E13

I guess we’re still continent hopping and encountering animals that do not belong in Africa. But I’m still enjoying the journey.

Oh god, there was hate art of Bunga? I can understand parodies but he's not THAT awful. I still do think he's the worst of the guard but I can name at least five characters from other shows and other places that are far worse. He wouldn't even make it in my top 30 worst characters

Yep, they killed him off like they killed Kopa. It just strengthened my love for him. And the episode Babysitter Bunga just justified him as a useful character, and one of my favorite episodes.

How would you rank the members of the original Lion Guard from best to worst? For me it would be Fuli, Kion, Beshte, Ono and Bunga

I love them all. I couldn’t possibly rank them like that. But if I had to choose a favorite, mine’s Bunga.

I swear, some of the hatred of 2019 Lion King is really getting out of control. I literally saw a tweet saying that this one person wants to die because the movie made more than Frozen. People seriously need to calm down. And this is coming from someone who absolutely HATED the idea but then decided to give it a chance. It's honestly not that bad. Didn't need to exist but not bad.

That’s just ignorant anti-CGI hatred. I mean, yeah it’s bad, the animation is like stop-motion taxidermy, and the dialogue didn’t match up to the lips moving in many places and they contradicted themselves with one particular scene.

But it did have its bonus scenes and hinted lore like Nala escaping the Pridelands, Scar actually being evil instead of just a flamboyant narcissist who dreams of grandeur, and the hint of resentment towards Mufasa for losing a challenge to him and earning his moniker as a result. And it redeemed Timon and Pumba for me, whom I found annoying in the classic.

Besides, Frozen has a sequel coming out that will soon replace TLK 2019, and make more money than it, and bury it in our subconscious like a fever dream. Clearly, mister wants-to-kill-themselves over box office sales has forgotten about that. Frozen II, according to this Tumblr post has three weeks of animating left, so that’s something to look forward to. And Endgame is the highest-grossing Disney movie to date, it broke several records and surpassed the blue cat-monkey aliens’ movie. And TLK 2019 didn’t break its records. So he’s being a drama queen. Clearly.

You know what this third season of TLG reminds me of? That really fucking weird Simba the King Lion cartoon. You know that one with all the crossover like characters like Bambi, Baloo, Shere Khan, Bagheera, etc.

That’s funny because I was also getting the same feeling.

It would've made more sense if that particular lion gave Scar his scar for whatever reason, teaching him a lesson to be careful on who you trust

Agreed. P sure snakes don’t leave crescent moon shaped scars like that. Granted I’ve never seen a snake scar before. They primarily bite, leaving two holes.

Oh geez, I'm going to be perfectly honest, I'm REALLY not a fan of this photorealistic Lion King movie coming out or any of the changes. Personally I find it unnecessary. However, I'm not going to try to throw a fit over it as I'll just simply not go see it. I can always appreciate the original Lion King movie.

And that’s alright. You don’t have to follow the crowd. I went to see D3 and while the rest of the fandom LOVED it. I found many problems with it. My main bitch was it felt like an extended RTTE episode(Granted there were some things I liked). So one does not have to like something just because the rest of the fandom does. You’re perfectly allowed to!
