Exactly. Like you said about the expulsion of some young lionesses who come of age. Some will leave on their own accord to start or join another pride. Often times leaving with their chased off brothers for protection since lions are a social species and groups of three or more are safer. It seems to me that we’re the only species that adamantly seeks out incest. Even then it’s considered a mental illness.

To add to the incest thing - even animals try to avoid it. They don't deliberately screw with their offspring/parents whenever they can. That's why sometimes young lionesses are chased off as well as lions. I only say it, because I honestly hate the 'but animals in real life do it!' excuse. Ugh.

Or unless under duress IE the cheetah population. Every chee out there is related in some way due to lack of fresh bloodline to breed with because humans wanted them as pets during the 20s or hunted them to near extinction. The Asiatic lion is another example of this.

I was a little heartbroken when in that particular journal I saw one very popular artist, who I used to respect and who I shall not name, also say that 'it's a call out journal'. Does nobody see the difference between call out and pointing out theft?

I know whom you speak of and I tried explaining it to them as well the difference before the journal was deleted. It wasn’t a witch hunt, it was just a public warning not to buy plus evidence backing their claim. S’all there was there was no more.

I remember waaaaay back when I was in TLKFAA Sketcher I was having an engaging discussion about something I didn’t like with another member who had the same mutual feeling about the same subject that has since been forgotten, and a certain fox comes into the sketcher and starts making fun of us for being “whiny Americans” according to her. Now I use to see this certain fox as an impressive artist and liked her art but when she started making fun of me for being American she lost respect points from me for that stint.

Aw man, I left a bit of an unfiltered reply to that last statement of hers, went to sleep and now I'll never know if she bothered to answer me or not, because she baaawleted it and now I'm blocked too. Yeah, maybe it was a bit aggressive, but I honestly hate tiptoeing around the issue, polite messages weren't working at all. I guess I'm an evil person, because bad art blogs make me laugh and I enjoy sorting thru them :P I'm pretty sure in a retrospect a lot of those artists will look back at the piece featured on such blogs and go 'wow, that WAS really bad'. At least, that's what I like to think.

I admit I will laugh and shake my head at bad fetish art. It’s just really that bad. Who could get their rocks off to it? Ya know? But artists trying really hard to do the art thing like trying to learn to draw is just kinda sad because being featured on those blogs discourages them to continue. I remember being laughed at for trying to draw or attempting realistically from my own peers in the TLK fandom and I kinda just stopped trying. Now I regret not ignoring the asshats making fun at me for trying.

I can agree with giving her props for drawing her own stuff, but lets not forget she does have a long record of stealing characters. If she wasn't known for that, then maybe she'd be given a break, I mean, TLKverse characters can often look similar to each other by accident, there's nothing wrong with that... but then, there's Lisa, who repeatedly stole characters from others. We have all the rights to be harsh on her.

... I don't see the point of shaming the artists for not making animal characters humanized with a certain skin colour. Yes, those characters are from Africa, yes, they probably would be darker colour if they were translated into human counterparts... but to accuse someone of whitewashing, just because they see those characters differently? I can see where you’re coming from, but I say - enjoy the art and don’t look too deep into it, unless it’s meant to be taken that way, which this obviously ISN’T. Let the artist express how they see the characters and not shame them for apparent ‘whitewashing’. It’s like shaming a cosplayer for cosplaying a character of different colour to theirs. It’s not right. /2
