Fuck yea terrible Lion King fandom
I think the problem with TLK 2's colour palette is all colours just went to a more blue tint. I guess that Kovu's pallette looks fine in TLK II, but when you put next to the characters with their TLK 1 palettes he just looks off. I'll say that I prefer his Lion guard pallette

Yea I’ve noticed that TLK II’s color palettes are more saturated and less vibrant to that of TLK I. If anyone were to use proper colors for their fan art, I’d say go with TLG’s color palette for these characters. It’s, as you said, somewhat closer to TLK I if not brighter.

Kiara and Kion were the lion equivalent of preteens when they went through it. Simba seems to be younger than that when the stampede happened. So they most likely didn't go because they were too young. As for Mufasa and Scar it depends when the split happened between the two. In my take on their backstory they tolerated each other until they were young adults when Scar starts thinking the pride might be better of with him as king.

Sounds about right to me c:

watched The Trail to Udugu today. It was a cute episode :). The one thing that kept sticking in my mind was the whole fact that "The Trail to Udugu" is done by all Royal siblings, so Mufasa and Scar as well. It surprised me that this wasn't brought up

Now you make me wonder how that went for Mufasa and Scar. And in my AU where Mheetu is Simba’s brother and how they went through it. Or maybe they didn’t go through it because shit went down hill before they could.

May I ask where you get your references for when you're painting your Disney clip art style pictures? I want to give the style a try myself, but I don't know where to search for references.

I look usually look it up on Google. Just use (character’s name + Disney if need be in the case of Scar) + clipart for your key words. I filter it through using transparent or white color and size large. The largest I’ve ever found of the Disney merchandise clipart is 5000x3000 px and those were Disney princesses.

Another site you might try is Disney’s Zazzle account. Look for them on either posters or mousepads. You can also find them on Pinterest. I collected screenshots of some when Disney did those little flash build games on their site. But they’ve since removed those.

I’ve started a folder that has 100+ Disney shade cliparts. Starting a collection folder for references is a very good investment.

Seems like they deleted the picture. But I feel that won't be the last we've heard of them.

I politely and courteously explained to them why they can’t  repost what they find on Google and they bawwlocked me. Guess that’s what happens when you’re politely telling these kids “No you can’t do this. Try this instead.”

Thanks! :) I was just about to speak to the person, but I see that you also ran across them. Hopefully they'll be mature about it and remove the art. (Though I honestly have doubts that this person is particularly mature)

They seem to consider us tr0lls because we’re telling them no. Here’s hoping they’re indeed mature enough and will listen to us and even the OPs they stole from.

How do you deal with art thieves? Specifically the ones that go with the "I found it on google excuse"? I've found one and I want to approach them. Based on some other comments the person doesn't seem to get that posting things that don't belong to you is wrong. What do I do?

In the case of them using the “I found it on google!”, I point them to Google’s terms and politely explain to them that Google states they are not a free resource site and that images are susceptible to copyright in their terms. If that still doesn’t help, then try to explain to them that just because it’s online doesn’t mean it’s free or fair use to repost. That you need permission from artists if they wanna repost or use something that belongs to them. If they still run their fingers in their ears ignoring you, just silently contact the artists and let them deal with it.

I wasn't really in the fandom during the whole "Lisa debacle" (I did try to piece together what it was about though) but I've been seeing comments she made on art pieces of more popular artist. Do you think that she just does this because she's selfish or because just doesn't know what she's doing comes over as buttering people up and doesn't know any better? (from what I understand she's rather young)

It could be a little of both, but I’m leaning more towards selfishness. She came over to dA from youtube and people over there are all “Oh look at my story!” “I want in your story!” “Okay!” Youtubers don’t have brains when it comes to defending themselves or their ideas from people like Lisa(Hell they’ve proven this with all that art theft and thinking deviantART is an open source site for art for their stories). So when they get sucker punched by these types of people they sit there sucking on their thumbs wondering why it happened.

I remember someone saying that they didn't add Zira's stripe because it was a fade, which would require a gradient. From what I heard animating things that involve gradients in programs like Flash or Toonboom is something difficult to do. so it might have been to prevent big animation errors from happening.

That could be why. Like I said Toon Boom is a funny program but it’s a lot more trust worthy than Flash.

Wait how is it wrong that the gorillas have thick British accents when Scar who was voiced by Jeremy Irons also had a British accent? I mean it's been awhile since I heard either of the voices, so maybe I'm not getting it.

Not sure why but Irons’ voice suited Scar as a villain. Somehow I didn’t pick up on his British accent. But Dan and Phil just didn’t even try to play with the tone of their voices when they were voice acting. It just didn’t seem to fit their characters. It’s either that, or the youtubers are just annoying by voice and actions to me.
