I don’t think they’ve been around the block before with overlays.

They’re called overlays. They’re essential tools in providing proof of tracing or copying. 

Because animators definitely copy off screenshots of other movies to make The Lion King and is perfectly legit referencing. Dur. 

It all boils down to how you use your resources. Whether it’s referencing to see how lines are laid on your subject so you can draw your subject on model in different poses, or bad habit referencing which is basically copying line for line and calling the finished copy yours.

There’s like, only one or two originally drawn characters that aren’t Nala or Simba recolors. 

A purple Simba or blue Kiara is not an original character. You’re just recoloring for recoloring sake and giving it a background that’s just as uncreative as the recolored character. You’re not putting effort into the character to make different personality traits that stand apart from the rest of the cast. 

Found this trying to look for decent looking anti-traced base stamps. Oh God..

I did some comparison between the two and OHMFG she did go full circle. I took the colors from both characters and put them side by side to see the difference and it’s 1-10% between the HSV sliders. The top colors are Sarfi’s, the bottom colors belong to Basa.

I found the comment thread where she claimed it was her so-called dog named Bali. She never had the name Bali till TC renamed her recolor sue. Her original name was Lisa which would’ve never fit in with the TLK universe.
