There hasn't been a recorded melanistic. Any "proof" pictures are photoshopped. You can tell because people not only make them nearly a solid black (They'd likely be a purple/blue black or brown), they add markings on them xD Usually white. It's stupid af

For example, I came up with a theory that during really desperate times the lionesses would eat some of the hyena's, which dwindled their numbers from the loads (In the Be Prepared scene) to a more manageable number ("Sarabi!" scene and the fighting scene). The hyena's couldn't prove it, nor did Scar care

Before she sing's the actual song itself, when she tells him to hush in both harsh and soft tone it jumped across as just trying to get him around her little finger (Especially the kinda mocking tone of "You must be exhausted"), since before she said it Kovu mumbled he didn't really want to do what she wanted him to do. The only time she seems genuine soothing is when Nuka dies. But everyone's different with how they interpret it c:

Course, even when she raised her voice at Kovu, she still managed to calm herself to sound more soothing to the upset cub before the Lullaby sequence. But I don’t think she’s insane. If anything she’s acting out of grief. Grief can make people do crazy things without thinking it through. Especially when vengeance is a powerful motivator for them.
