Fuck yea terrible Lion King fandom
LonelyRogue seems to be trying to stir up drama that isn't there. What Rho does with her characters, her FICTIONAL characters, is her business and if you have a problem with it, block her. You cant make someone change. Change has to already be on the individuals mind for it to even take place, and it's their decision whether or not they do it. My advice to LR, stop whatever you're trying to pull here and move on. You aren't helping anyone, including yourself. You're just making things worse.

As I’ve said, “Stop trying to play Missionary.”

This is kinda a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. on one hand, it should've been credited and could've been done without putting actual links or been said very vaguely "this was for a redraw contest, but i decided not to enter". Because it wasn't credited, nothing is given to indicate that it isnt theft thus throwing "lighter fluid" on the fire anyway.

And it was claimed to be ‘an exercise for drawing expressions’.

Pretty much spot on, yes. Credit is important.

On that last comment war, um no, not problem solved. No matter how much (or how little, apparently) work those kids put into these videos, the content still doesn't belong to them and thus have no right to post it. I'd say put claims on all the videos with the Cubs cause these kids won't listen to reason. Maybe in a few years they'll grow up and realize how much of an ass they were to people in the fandom and apologize.

That’s all we can do and hope for the better. If they put that much effort into editing, they can put that much effort into making their own OCs.

So, basically... TC's characters get stolen on a pretty regular basis, and they're not allowed to defend themselves or vent their frustrations when this keeps happening? wtf is wrong with people? TC's not the one parading around stolen artwork/characters as their own. TC's not promoting violence. TC's a person who's tired, frustrated, being backed into a corner and poked at by people who try to justify the harassment being thrown at them! People ought to be ashamed of how they're treating TC.
Omg, that's really shocking! Why would someone with such talent resort to that? Especially giving no credit for references?? Wow..

They’re drunk on their own fame. Those kinds of artists are ignorant and think they can get away with it when in reality they ruin fandom experience for others. RN this person was confronted by two people and this individual highlighted their comments. Inb4 victim play and witch hunt post.

If it were me, I'd express my right to refuse service to someone causing a ruckus. But if they are no longer causing problems, it might be ok to sell to them.

Aye, but I keep going back to it being immoral, ruckus or not. Active art thieves, on the other hand, no sale. However, refusing to sell to this person provided they get rid of their unoriginul the character, would be considered a hostage negotiation if I look at it from a sideline point of view.

Her color coordinating and lining skills are pretty good on their own, but yes, steer clear of tracing over screenies to earn a following. It is so much more rewarding to make something yourself and grow as an artist. More people will admire you for that. Personally, i'd love to see what she can do without the help of a screenshot. Her characters were very cutely designed. I'd like to see more of them (without screenie help). :)

Agreed :D

I don't think they should be proud of tracing like that. Being "inspired" means being driven to make something great in your own way. Give your own spin to something, not flat out copy and steal. That just makes you look desperate for attention and that is not a very good look for anyone to have.

Agreed. It’s like I say, trace to learn, not to earn. Tracing is fine if you’re trying to learn to draw something and you don’t quite know the mechanics yet. But this one is definitely feeding her ego with tracing/recoloring.

Honestly though, those are cub bases... there's no telling where people may take the designs once they buy them. they could change several aspects of the design. for example: Adding scars, manes/styles, body shape, extra markings, accessories, etc. Plus they will be able to flesh them out a whole lot more than Lisa could ever hope to dream of with hers. So i honestly dont see why everyone is so up in a tizzy over this load of bull.

That’s the ENTIRE point of buying color palettes off bases. Bases are simply there to show you what the palette looks like. It’s up to the buyer what they do with the cub and how they design it to suit their needs unless it was bought off of an original design and shape drawn by the artist. Case in point adoptables I have bought off of Eyes and RedTheLioness, and yes, even NorthernRed is making lion king style adoptables lately for auction that are not done on bases. The purity police seem to forget that.

Apparently there's more than we think lol. They're a bit more humble I guess.

Less noisy than the Kopa worshippers thankfully.
