Im going to be honest with you Kash, that “are you on the spectrum” question makes it appear that you think people on the spectrum cannot differentiate between right and wrong. That’s a little bit offensive there, given that I’m on the spectrum myself and can certainly tell what’s right and what’s wrong. It might not have been your intention but it really looks like you think people on the spectrum are stupid :/
We’ve had people stealing art before that were on the spectrum that didn’t understand why it was wrong to take from others without permission.
Was there a better way I could have worded it? Perhaps not have started with it?
I’m willing to listen and learn if people won’t jump down my throat in the first place.

The adoptable wasn't done by Rho, but someone else. Cynder purchased knowing it would upset Rho. That behavior is not acceptable. I know Rho isn't a basket of fruit herself, but to be forced to stop using her fursona and to be forced off DA because of Cynder's behavior and Claire's support of it... That's not okay.

But yes, that is shit behavior. The entire situation was a mess from the start but Rho only made it messier with the actions she took.
Nobody is telling Claire to end her friendship, so no idea where that is coming from :/ I just feel it's hypocritical to be so infuriated over the the TC thing and yet be totally fine with one of her friends doing the exact same thing. You can still be friends with someone and not support problematic behavior. I know she's claimed to be neutral, but in my eyes, choosing to remain neutral (or turn a blind eye) is just as bad as supporting it.
It’s just the way I read how people are mad at Claire. I’ve had people accuse me of siding with Cynder, and I am no means on her side. I’m tired of this bad feud between them, honestly.
And, from my understanding, the ‘spitetheft’ character was an adoptable she bought back when they were still friends before their falling out. Thaaat’s why I never make adoptables based off my lion’sonas.
So, a very popular artist created a character that is eerily similar to mine. Colors are just one or two shades different, design is eerily similar with a few small differences. I've had mine for 2 years, they uploaded theirs 2 days ago. I don't know if I should say nothing and just stop using my character or risk saying something and get bullied off DA by their fanbase.
It’s probably a coincidence? IDK what to tell you without seeing the characters side by side and whether they interacted with you on a few occasions or even follow you to know for sure. I say keep using your character since you’ve put so much time and investment into it. If anyone says otherwise, just tell them you’ve had it longer.
Honesty time. TC's fancubs aren't that original to me. Leah just looks like a female Simba with Kiara's face, Asha is just a female Scar with a Pridelander build & Koda is just a dark brown Simba with a slick backed mane. If they were more unique and didn't look frankentraced, I'd be more inclined to pity her.
Unpopular opinion: TC started out recoloring and tracing. But she actually ADMITTED to doing so and didn’t try denying it like most kids these days. Halfway through her doing Kiara’s Reign comic, she began breaking away and started to draw her characters, not trace as they were in the first half. She’s even admitted that she wants to redo that comic and draw the characters as opposed to tracing but she’s just lost the creative motivation thanks to this wasteland we call a fandom. TC says she’s created these cubs when she was in the 3rd grade and didn’t want to change them much. Says she wants to keep true to her kid-self.
And as long as we’re honest? Aren’t ALL fan characters pretty much recolors of Simba or Nala or Kiara???

Soo, JasmineHopkins/LynxBrush got banned from FA because she uploaded cub porn. Yeah, it was cropped and censored, but it was still pretty obvious. I don't care how bad your financial situation is, you should never stoop to that level. I'm so disappointed in her, I used to really admire her as an artist too. Seems like all my idols are doing shitty things :c
I’m still waiting for an apology from her for that witch hunt she started. Half the fandom that she blocked deserves an apology also when she ‘claimed’ she was gonna unblock us and apologize about it but never did.
Also, she’s been rather shitty since her early days on TLKFAA with her always being antagonistic towards me and picking fights whenever I entered sketcher, so it’s nothing new that she’d go that far. Inkbunny is the proper place to post that kinda garbage last I heard.
I'm pretty sure regarding the whole Bahassi thing is coincidence, same idea, both are very different though. I just don't feel it's enough to be throwing the art theft accusation around. It'd be like me drawing a generic lion in a sitting pose, finding you'd done one similar with slight differences, and me smacking you with the big ol' art theft stamp.
Agreed. While said person has been known for baiting. I think it’s best to consider it a matter of who drew it better and move on until they really pull something stupid. I feel like we’re looking at a case of intelligent trolling. Where in troll party trolls within the rules and can’t be caught.
Imma be honest, the TLK fandom is toxic as fuck. Yes, I've made some amazing friends in it, but the majority of the fandom is horrid. You make a similar pose to a more popular artist? You're branded a thief, even if you list references. You have a similar colored character to another popular artist? Thief. I'm just so scared to post anything these days, just in case it looks similar to a piece by someone more popular than me or the character looks similar to one of theirs.
It’s why a majority of people are scared to post anything or enter the fandom. You’ve got your gross-out kinkers and you’ve got your art thieves. And yes, that is true for some popular artists who get stolen from constantly. Many times it’s not their fault that people try to defend them. Sometimes it’s purely a coincidence. But you never know until you post your stuff to see if people would like it.
