That logic might work in the Shrek universe, but not in TLG. In order to get hybrids, the animals have to be closely related by species. Known hybrids to work include the following: Leopon(Lion + leopard), zebroid(Zebra + any other equine species, you could get a zeedonk between a wild African ass and zebra), Savannah cat(Serval + (domestic)cat, but you can stretch this as Africa does have various wild cat species), and included(on account of the S3 finale), but not limited to, Ligers(male lion + tigress) and tigon(lioness + male tiger). Serveetah(serval + cheetah) hybrids are possible, but size difference would be an issue for the parents to successfully mate.
Hyena hybrids are virtually nonexistent neither in the wild nor captivity.
King cheetahs were once labeled a cheetah/leopard hybrid until it was discovered that it’s a genetic mutation.
To quote Nostalgia Critic, The Lion Guard “needs another season like my eggs need more salt… could use it but can live without it.”
They tied it together nicely without forced tropes, or alienating anyone, or forced writing and forgetting important details from the sequel like a certain series that shall remain nameless. But does it need another season?
I don’t really think it does. To give it another season, it would require a plot. And if the plot is too big for the season, it’s going to need another season added to it.
Maybe Ford Riley shouldn’t rally the troops and instead consider a spinoff show.
