So the person whose been recoloring HydraCarina’s artwork that joined this week on dA has struck again. Exact match. Their excuse seems to be the old “It was in the movie so I traced it!!!” card. And this new one they traced was for someone’s contest. Boy I do hope they remove this entry.
Uh, I should have probably overlaid the layers on my last submission better. But here’s the other traced image I was talking about (it’s weird one can’t submit multiple images at a time but hey, it’s not my blog!). It was pretty easy to tell with this one that it was a trace from HydraCarina. :|

I was busy browsing around the lion king tag on dA when I found this ‘artwork’. I knew something was up with the style so I did a little overlaying and it looks like someone traced over HydraCarina’s art again. :\ All you have to do is take HydraCarina’s Nia’s body and slap on Amara’s head a bit and you’ve got this.
It doesn’t help that an earlier deviation by this user also traced this fanart of Ni from HydraCarina as well.
If this is who I think it is (I can’t tell, the lines are kinda blur into one another) I knew this person traced from day 1 that they joined. It was no hiding the fact that they latched onto HydraCarina/Nadra and just sucked her dry like a talent vampire.
Um… The user said that it was a base that she made herself for this. I don’t think it is as much a base as it is a complete trace over a screenshot from SP. That might just be me but, that isn’t art.
It just looks like they recolored it a-la MSPaint. While recoloring CAN be considered an art form, this is just super lazy base recoloring. I do quite like that their character there is natural colored however.
Considering they draw in the rest of their gallery you can clearly tell this has been recolored. They weren’t bad at babymipping the two Kiaras together though. But some lines are missing atop the Kiara’s head in the foreground.
Came across an old baser that use to trace and recolor fan art(and has since stopped) but curiosity got the better of me and I could see that this kid–‘scuze me, this adult hasn’t evolved with their “art” at all. They still use default MSPaint colors when coloring and have no concept of clothing. Those acid laced kool-aid colors is supposed to be clothes believe it or not, and these characters are Mortal Kombat characters “lionized”.
That’s it. That’s the rest of this tracer’s gallery. Kaa hypnotizing various characters ranging from Disney to alpha and omega mutant mice disguised as wuffs.
I don’t necessarily think that Uncle Max’s ideal significant other is a Shenzi recolor that’s 10x his size. But hey, at least they drew it as opposed to traced based it. If this kid would put down the traced bases and drew like this more, they’d find they no longer need to traced base.
apparently this is kiara and kovu’s Cub. she looks nothing like them! she also has purple eyes. she looks more like nalas cub or even baby nala!
Actually she looks more like a dotty or spotty cub. But I agree it doesn’t look anything like either parent. If it looks like Nala, that’s because it’s copied off of Cub Nala clipart (right)
