Uh, I should have probably overlaid the layers on my last submission better. But here’s the other traced image I was talking about (it’s weird one can’t submit multiple images at a time but hey, it’s not my blog!). It was pretty easy to tell with this one that it was a trace from HydraCarina. :|
Okay that’s not from whom I thought you were speaking of.
I was busy browsing around the lion king tag on dA when I found this ‘artwork’. I knew something was up with the style so I did a little overlaying and it looks like someone traced over HydraCarina’s art again. :\ All you have to do is take HydraCarina’s Nia’s body and slap on Amara’s head a bit and you’ve got this.
It doesn’t help that an earlier deviation by this user also traced this fanart of Ni from HydraCarina as well.
If this is who I think it is (I can’t tell, the lines are kinda blur into one another) I knew this person traced from day 1 that they joined. It was no hiding the fact that they latched onto HydraCarina/Nadra and just sucked her dry like a talent vampire.
The person who traced Nadra is claiming to be some kind of professional graphics artist? Who’d trust a graphics artist that traces off someone else?
Notice how wobbly the second paw is on the brown cub is drawn? That’s because this person traced this image off of Nadra/Hydracarina and just added a paw onto the cub expecting nobody would notice after they were caught tracing Nadra for their comic.
Have I mentioned how much people who trace for comics and then claim donut steel on their ‘work’ annoys me? It’s like photo bombing a hunter’s trophy shot and saying “I KILLED DIS! ALL ME!”
This kid is slipping down the slippery slope towards failure with his second offense of tracing and recoloring fan art.
So this morning I was informed that yet another blogspot has stolen artwork and refused to source it. And it wasn’t just my work stolen this time, they also horribly recolored HydraCarina’s works.
It’s really hard to take anyone’s tutorial seriously if all they do is make pony bases and have to steal from other people for a visual guide.
