You might remember Umeme from an earlier submit. I recently wrote her backstory and BOY is it dark. Despite her being a TLG-sona, a show that’s nice and sweet, I went full realistic with her backstory and DEATH IS EVERYWHERE.
She was born in a litter of 5. Her pack consists of her parents and older siblings (2) who decided to stay with the family for a bit longer. The first death is even before they leave the den. Around when the pups first start to play and walk, one of them is accidentally killed during a playfight. Which is a common thing that happens (she’s just lucky I didn’t decide to go complete realism and have the siblings eat the dead pup bc yes. that happens. especially with fox cubs).
The second is another of her littermates is taken by a hawk right in front of her. Her older brother is kicked in the head by a zebra during a hunt. Her older sister is snatched by a crocodile at the watering hole. Everyone else survives luckily, but this leaves Umeme wondering if there’s a truly safe place for her to stay.
She has survivor’s guilt HARD bc if you remember, she has asthma which makes her a lot weaker than the rest of her pack, yet she continues to live when everyone else dies. She also grew to be very apathetic and cold to others. You grow numb to death when you watch your family get killed in front of you as a puppy.
Eventually her need to find a truly safe place and escape her guilt leads her to the Pridelands and you know the rest. She ends up as Rafiki’s assistant and she does not like Makini at all lmao
Love the realistic background approach tho. Also it’s fresh to see non lion OCs!
Also meet my First King of the PrideLands Takatiifu and his lovely queen Griselda and oh big bad Iblisi. Also yeah they look like LoZ but TLK xD I don’t lie, they were based on them. I thought if that one chick Ko-lioness I think? Could have Bad Girl lions then I could have lions based on LoZ. I had some elaborate story but I can’t remember much of it now rofl all I remember is Takatiifu was born with the Roar and Iblisi wants to kill the land trying to hunt him down because of a prophecy fortelling a cub with a mark of the kings will defeat him. Takatiifu in death decides the Roar is too powerful for a ruler to have and instead bestows it upon every second born. Griselda can foresee the future and shit but loses the ability because Iblisi blinds her in one eye as her foresight was linked to her eyes. If one eye is gone she cant see the entire future, only bits of it. Iblisi runs on dark magic he shouldnt have found that polluted the land where ever he goes, making ShadowLands like Scar did. So it turned the hyenas gray instead of brown, he’s the origin of why hyenas are so terribly feared and hated because his monster sized clan wiped out much of Africa in the pursuit of ruling it alllllll.
Also I hope my admitting of their design inspirations doesn’t make you think less of me ;_;
If it makes you feel better 80% of my lowlander lionesses were inspirations from Transformers Prime. My Mabuheto is clearly fucking Starscream and Rusa the mute is painfully obviously Soundwave –inarticulate cackling–
And and and *excited nerd rambling* these are Ikkis brothers Kirafiki and Joshi as adults ~ Kirafiki is a stick up his ass but means well in the end guy and leader of the Lion Guard after Kion who he also hero worships besides his dad and Joshi is a fun loving bold wild card who reality fawks up so bad he is crippled, used by his mate Pumzi bc he’s a prince [pictured] and dies when he finally wisens up, leaving his wife a widow and cub fatherless. Kirafiki and her tho eventually get together after a lot of shit :U Joshi and Kovu had issues because Joshi was really immature and untame so he ran away from home as a teennnnnn *let’s breath go*
And I thought I liked to torture my characters XD
Also here’s more Tai. The adult one has his old colors and the teen one has Tais updated pallet. Was wondering what you thought of his design and updated colors ~ he’s a precious cinnamon roll who Fuli babies more than Kion does rofl he also joins the future Lion Guard as something, maybe the Fastest since Fuli was his foster mom ~
Definitely like the teen colors more.

Aw thanks :’D these are slightly oldish drawings but the light gray little guy Lutalo is who Samra picks as her heir ~ he’s Dotty’s son and basically Ikkis best friend and has a one sided crush on her for the longest time lel Hondo tho is his older half brother and Ikkis man meat so Lutalo has to admit he’s beaten rofl They’re related to Malka, Tama and Samra too ~ Hondo is like his great nephew or something I can’t remember xD

This is Chenzira ~ She’s my version of a Vitani love child with a rogue who broke her heart ~ She’s daddy issues all the way and a salty hoe who likes putting her cousin Ikki down because she’s jelly asf :U Samra is her girlfriend and becomes a queen after marriage ~ They don’t want kids anyway so they content they can’t make any tho the kingdom is very concerned bc no heirs but they have it covered xD

This is my gay lion princess who is the grand daughter of Malka and Tama ~ yeah her hair is dumb but after so many years of her having it I can’t imagine her without it otherwise rofl
She needs a bit of volume in the back of her head but otherwise she’s very lovely to look at!
Ok say so boy cub is my version of Kion’s son with Tiifu [ignore Chenzira she’s Vitani’s daughter] Tiifu tho is killed by Janja and the clan as revenge against Kion when Tai was a baby. Fuli failed to save her as she was out numbered by them and the rest of the guard were too late. Kion mourns and his son is what helps him realize he has to move on. Eventually Kion and Fuli realize they got old feelings lingering because of Tai and work together to raise him, as Fuli becomes attached to the cubby out of guilt for Tiifus demise. I wanted to do a FuliKion family route without a biological cub, especially since I always thought Fuli was too stuck in her ways to admit to Kion she wants to be with him in their older life so it takes tragedy for them to realize it, tho I always like to think that no matter what they were thick as thieves no matter the thing ~ anyway, wanted your thoughts, also are Tais colors bad? I’ve always been mixed on them.
