Uhm… –laughing hard– The Lion Guard has been out for a couple years now and they haven’t bothered with updating the cover with actual Disney content YET?
I guess he wanted to be the big dog on campus and wanted to be right about TLK being overrated, and wanted me to bend over backwards to his opinion that he up and bawwlocked me after getting the baiting tables turned on him.
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen
Idk if this counts but I’m like 95% certain this person is tracing other artists, as well as 100% certain they’ve traced from the movie. I can pinpoint malistlk’s work specifically.
It’s hilarious to me that they’ve named their channel slothastic and yet produced lazy and stolen content.
There is some other works in there that I think are from lil-cheetah and someone else. don’t recognize them.
Shenzi’s anatomy… and head, bug me.
This is from the updated Learn to Draw TLK book, as illustrated by Walter Foster Jr.

It makes me sad that something that instilled so much joy and creativity in me as a child has turned into a gross, bland subpar copy. There was not passion in the film. It was cold and dead. So I thought I’d share something that clearly shows the beauty of this movie, with the vibrancy and passion that can be seen in this painting alone, and throughout the entirety of the original. Bought on a Disney cruise in 2007. There’s a hidden Bambi and Jiminy Cricket. This remake is not what The Lion King is. Those animators didn’t spend their blood sweat and tears observing the wildlife in Africa for this. Not some heartless cash grab carbon copy✨🦁🌈
I want to say the artist hid other easter eggs in this painting too, aside from Jiminy and Bambi. But yes. The remake sucked.
So I had seen TLK 2019. I was not happy in the slightest with it.
The pacing was rushed, dialogue was chopped and didn’t sync up with lip-syncing in places. They had a chance to rewrite it like they did TJB, but they didn’t. And they were all dead, emotionally speaking, and stiff. It was like watching a stop motion film with taxidermied animals.
I wish they’d have used the CGI techniques used in Owls of Gahoole or Happy Feet. They at least felt alive and they were birds! Hell, Disney’s first CGI film, Dinosaur, carried more emotion than CG Simba.
They also contradicted themselves. At least one moment I can think of where they contradicted themselves was with Mufasa’s death. They implicated Simba didn’t see Mufasa fall. But then, when we went in shot for shot where Scar tells Simba his secret, they go shot for shot from the 94 classic in that scene. I’m pretty sure they used audio from the 94 classic for that scene too because it sounded near exact to the original scene right down to JTT’s shriek. It was a cheap trick.
They may have the tech, but they don’t have the talent to pull off believable living animals.
If you’re wanting to watch TLK 2019, I would save my money and rent it. Or just avoid it altogether and just rewatch the 94 classic.
TLK 2019 was a huge dog turd.
This kind of spam annoys the fuck out of me. Because then those of us who actually post fucking art get buried under all this spam.
