“I is gud anim8tor!”
Just a crappy comic filter over a scene from Rise of Makuu.
I miss the bygone days of the mid 2000s where everyone praised original style in this fandom. That was the golden age.
But now, now this fandom has an addiction and that is called tracing.
Tracing has spiked in popularity over the last five years accompanied by the battle cry of “But my reputation!”
The root of the problem is hard to precisely pinpoint. I’d dare say it started with traced bases. But it starts with people blindly praising tracing. Even obvious tracing. It doesn’t help that the tracer lies that they drew it.
This post is not aimed at nobody in particular since 95% of this fandom is guilty of tracing for asspats and validation.
It’s true that tracing can be a good tool to teach. It builds up muscle memory and teaches you how things are drawn. And that’s how tracing should be used. Keep it to yourself and use your original works for validation and sharing your ideas.
But again. Too many people in this fandom are lying about being original with their works, either tracing off the film or other artist’s content and then passing off screenshots as their reference source. And that’s ignorance and theft. You’re also deceiving people that you can draw when, you’re really just putting up smoke and mirrors.
It wouldn’t be so bad if you just admit you traced your source, I do when I do them either for fun or to de-stress. But lying about it loses my interest and trust in you.
It’s always a laugh riot when they come at me and boldly proclaim “IDGAF!” and then proceed to act like a baby about it and bawwlock me.
I mean, this kid(and I use the term loosely, he’s behaving much like one) recolored lots of fanart, then proceeded to drag my main sona into his vore stories as revenge vore. He seems to be disillusioned that by recoloring our art or using our characters ‘in his stories’ will get us lots of traffic when he’s a nobody.
You proceed to bully me while continuing on to blindly argue your case.

The redraw that apparently Dansha no longer owns copyright of her own work now

The og by WhiteDansha

The insulting comment that Vokinoed left on Dansha’s piece (which has since been deleted by the artist) because how dare she replicate the TLK style that everyone and their grandmother recognizes!
She’s basically being an abusive piece of shit to the og artist by not crediting her as her source and going to her deviation and harassing her. Art theft is abuse.
If Vokinoed would just credit WhiteDansha now that we know the og artist allows it, this would all just be over. But noooo, it copyright didney! Not some rando online! Didney drew de art! Clearly!
@greencharisard You’re clearly missing the point.

This diagram created by JesseRenee points out the differences in different forms of theft. Vokinoed copied, basically.
The fact is that Vokinoed clearly wanted the same pose. They traced the drawing. Then when told not to trace the artist, they redrew it and claimed that they referenced the film.
No where in the film is there a pose exactly like that, except maybe Scar at the beginning. But that’s a different angle.
It’s still theft because they redrew the artist’s art, and are refusing to credit the artist.
Nah, I’d be a bully if I was mocking their drawing skills. But ideally, I would rather see them drawing on their own. If they can’t draw, then use tracing as a tool to teach. Just keep it to yourself and don’t pass it off as your hard work donut steel.
She’s basically confessing to stealing her art. Love how she’s still playing the victim here /sarcasm
She still has no concept that the pose is recognizable to WhiteDansha.
“Oh, but I found a pose just like it in TLK bla bla bla”
No, there is no pose in TLK that resembles WhiteDansha’s pose which is constantly stolen.
I still didn’t see where they apologized. If they did apologize to WhiteDansha, it was in private note. But they never apologized to me, they just continued to shout how Dansha doesn’t own the pose now that they redrew it.
They even went onto Dansha’s commish and shouted about how it was theft because how dare they not credit didney for deh style!
It’s like looking at double negatives here in this comment. “I wanted de pose! I didn’t steal de pose! But Dansha can’t copyright a pose!”
Dumbass thinks the fanimation by Eduardo Quintana was legit Disney animated and refuses to credit the original artist.

Tribble does lore videos for her series and now suddenly TNP is doing them?
At least Tribble has put out more than just a series trailer that calls for it. This feels like they’re counting their chickens before they hatch. With no episodes that raises these questions, they’re basically handing the world building and plot on a silver platter.
