Apparently, TC’s cubs have reached Kopa status online. Kids are taking them seriously as canon. And poorly RPing them. Type in Koda, Asha, and Leah into Youtube and even Google and you’ll get thousands of results of little kids getting their sticky hands on these fan cubs. Holy shit.

Let’s not just sweep this under the rug because Claire defends art theft… Yes, she’s a recognized figure in TLK fandom but this was a HUGE slip up on her part to go as far as to copy Takura’s characters to GIVE to Thrasher, whom for what it’s worth is Takura’s enemy. Claire committed character theft, now she needs to be treated like a thief; The very reason this blog exists. We wouldn’t leg a thief just delete, they need to apologize and explain why they did that thing. Hold EVERYONE to the same standard. DON’T excuse people just because they’re your friend.
The lion on the right, yeah, I’ll agree is a def rip off minus the tail and dorsal stripe, but there’ve been lions with socks before in this fandom and Tak doesn’t hold copyright on socked lions or yellow lions for that matter. Same goes to Thrasher and her whole paranoia about gold lions.
Don’t go accusing Claire of being a hypocrite until you understand her point of view. But that doesn’t mean that Thrasher is innocent in this whole debacle either.
Claire asked me about this whole situation last night in notes and I persuaded her to remove the image she posted to avoid unwanted drama and suggested that future gifts for Thrash be her fursona since it’s more original.
Looks like KaiserTiger is Naoki’s new copying target. First her KH-themed lions and now her EBC-themed characters have been copied (the picture here is actually a commission).
Some may say “But hey it’s just an aerial-themed feline, nothing original” - But I don’t believe in coincidence in Naoki’s case.

Personally I think it’s for popularity but I also think it’s a sign of ignorance because they don’t bother to ask the artist how they feel about it before actually doing it. Not hating on the person at all I just personally believe they shouldn’t do stuff like this unless the artist themselves says it’s okay.

Naoki still kept the design. Lightened the saturation on the colors, and changed minor details like getting rid of the two tone eyes and changing the beard into a marking. She also renamed it to Rainden (Really? Isn’t it obvious enough?).
Naoki-TLK1 is still stealing designs. This one belongs to Azerae on dA. It shares the same exact colors as Azerae’s. Minus the double tone tail and the mane is reversed. Granted Aze is a baser baby. But character theft is still character theft. No matter what art medium you use. I suspect Naoki is a Blogger bastard that migrated onto deviantART.
