Fuck yea terrible Lion King fandom
That's awful. I love The Lion King, but Disney sometimes, man...

Yeah Disney goes a little extreme sometimes.

I'm not arguing that Simba stole from Kimba, I just don't want Disney (which has been abusing copyright laws to keep Mickey Mouse and stuff) to crush aspiring artists. I don't think using a character based on one Disney owns (Uru) was a good idea, but if Disney can shut her down for having kingdoms of colorful talking lions, I'd be upset that such a broad concept would be apparently "owned" by a corporation.

Like another anon said, Disney’s been known for targeting Daycares for paining Tigger on walls. So…

Still, using 'Uru' makes it really clear what she's doing. Even a cursory search will show anyone what she used her last Uru for. I just don't understand how she can be that stupid. Disney goes after preschools that paint Tigger on the walls, for god's sake. She's just trying to leech off Disney's popularity and rake in their TLK audience. I'm just glad she's failing. Hopefully she can rework her mess into something that's actually original.

Agreed.

Honestly I hope Disney doesn't go after her considering their own Lion King was an adaptation of Hamlet and similar to/partially inspired by Kimba. It would just be very scummy to me to see them go after smaller people for doing what they've done and all

Technically TLK initially was going to be a collaborative effort between the creator of Kimba/Leo and Disney as a Disney reinvention of Kimba. Both admired each other’s works. Kimba’s creator even adapted Bambi into a manga with Disney’s permission. Please, Ask Anyahs for more detail. She can regale you more than what I remember her telling me.

I just really don’t want to start the whole “Disney stole from Kimba” tirade here when there’s little to no proof. I do not count that one particular website as proof either. It’s grasping at straws as far as I’m concerned.

yknow, with that whole nazi punching kick everyone was on for a while, i'm a little surprised no one did that with scar since he's almost basically lion-hitler

I’m anti-that meme in particular because it incites unnecessary violence. Me being a pacifist and all. I p much associate anyone who preaches it a tool.

But I am surprised they didn’t. Because initially Scar was going to run Priderock like a nazi concentration camp. They even kept the Hyena march in Be Prepared to reference that.

heeyyy i actually made my own version of naanda/sarafina too! it's a lowkey fandom thing that doesn't nearly compare to, say, kopatani or scar/sarafina, but i gotta say i like it waayyy more than the latter two ships.

It’s an underrated/uncommon ship. It needs more love.

My theory on why Scar chose Job I as his heir: The loss of the Roar weakens the body in all ways, leaving males infertile (or, if Nuka is actually Scar's son) afflicting the cubs with the same weakness.

I meant to type “Kovu” in that last ask. Stupid autocorrect.

Totally makes sense because that’s what I headcanon too. Also no hard feelings anon. That’s why I turned off auto correct.

Anyone else excited at the thought and hope that Zira might see Scar in TLG in his fiery glory? Will he call her his queen, his most devoted follower or what? Cause if they have Zira show Kovu Scar, then that links up to the Not One of Us scene where he sees Scar and that would cover that pitfall nicely.

I question whether she will be dragged into this. If anything she would become a deuteragonist. Separate from Scar’s ghost.

I think im the only one who thinks that Zira was more evil than Scar in a few ways. Like you could bargain for your life with Scar, but Zira? Yeah no. And she was willing to strike down Vitani and Kovu in public in front of her own Pride without a hesitation. Scar also didnt seem the type to try and raise his own offspring to do his dirty work.

Scar preferred the use of minions for his dirty work imho. Unless of course when it came to tossing his brother off the side of a gorge. And you can’t tell me he isn’t weak. He was strong enough to strike Sarabi. And she looked somewhat healthy at that part. So yeah, considering Zira had the strength and the lack of compassion to strike her children down for disobeying her(Despite her not doing so), I think I agree with ya here.

Cannon ships are fine and all but sometime it's fun to split them apart and stick them with others.

Eh… I don’t really float that way but if you enjoy it, GOOD for you anon!
