We’re only bigots because we didn’t agree with them. When I agreed with them back before I knew what this was about, they didn’t attack me and call me a bigot. How Ironic.
Better believe I will stand up against racism in this fandom just as I will antisemitism. But there’s standing up for victims of racism and stamping it out and then there’s bullying an artist because they drew a character in a way you don’t approve of. They didn’t bother seeing that the artist they straight up vaguely called out having drawn a very diverse and respectfully diverse cast of TLG characters. No, they only had tunnel vision for the pasty skinned Kion. This kind of bullshit is why I’m afraid to try having characters of different minorities. No matter how well you respect them with your research to design them, you’re the bad guy.
You know that is one thing I noticed. We know the concept artists in the first film but we don’t have solid names in Simba’s Pride. Or for that matter, the lead character designers.
I have found the SP concept art that was mentioned. But as Honeyfur stated, it’s hard to tell if legit because it was shared on Instagram. The rough style seems to match with SP concept art. But I think the only way to confirm it, is to ask a concept artist who worked on SP at this point.

My usual tactic to find new concept art is to type in ‘X production art’ where x is the name of the film. Unfortunately I’ve lost where the image was first shared on dA.

On a more serious note, their toxic behavior is making it really hard to be on their side. They legit just told someone else how to find the deviation they were complaining about vaguely, and now they’re throwing a temper tantrum about being called out for their toxic behavior and wondering why they’re being called toxic.
There’s a chasm of a difference between being racist with your images on purpose, and taking artistic liberties on how someone harmlessly views an animal as a human.
