At all. By applying it to so many instances that have nothing to do with its original definition, antis have rendered the term meaningless. As most adult CSA survivors have been trying to say for years. Antis facilitate CSA, because they make it difficult to tell real danger to real children apart from stupid shitstorms about imaginary characters, or conservative queerphobia. Do you really think this is aimed at Qatsby? Maybe before you go Stan all over my ass and try to cancel me for an old post that’s probably been long since resolved, assess the situation. iirc, Qatsby posted a journal about an art thief reposting fan art and turning our art into bases against our wishes on instagram. This was not aimed at Qatsby.
I just felt that I should point out that this is a defense mechanism that white knights like to use as a shield when someone steals character designs.
I’ve seen this lie plenty of times when someone takes a popular fan character.
You can, in fact, be original in any fandom with fan designs. The people who see greed and desire to be popular with their characters yet resort to stealing popular designs are the ones who aren’t original.
I’ve been around this fandom long enough to see lots of original designs. All those adoptables, all those fan designs on TLK Source, and all those busy fan designs on instagram. There is still room to be original without having to step on toes if you try hard enough.
I have a newfound dislike for Favrau. Remember when the animators wanted to work on Pocahontas instead during the 94 TLK’s production? And much to their surprise, it was a big success once it released.
As it turns out, 2019 went the way of Game of Thrones, in that Star Wars once again killed the heart of the project.
I sincerely hope Favrau surprises us with the sequel. Now that he no longer has Mandalorian to distract him, maybe he’ll be more laser focussed. And we’ll get a better animation this time around. As of now, only the promise of new story lore has me interested. And that’s pretty disappointing.
