Hot take of the day: a worrying number of leftists are actually just Evangelical Christians with the serial numbers filed off

The world is sinful a capitalist hellscape but we just have to wait until the Second Coming the Revolution happens when everything will be magically fixed. Any attempt to make actual progress makes you a lukewarm Christian liberal anything less than the Apocalypse the Revolution (which we are forever waiting for btw) is completely useless . Also consuming certain media or makin certain lifestyle choices is sinful and unchristian bad praxis.

What most of us have said is this:

× “Fiction doesn’t affect reality on a 1:1 ratio.”

× “Fiction is not reality and should not be treated as such.”

× And “Real life, living, breathing human beings matter far more than any fictional character ever will.”

Notice how NONE of that says “Fiction doesn’t affect reality. Full stop. In any situation. Ever.”

there is unfortunately no way to magically tell the difference between a Truly Pure Good Human Being and a Secret Evil Monster by watching their like, polygon videos or whatever. there is no unifying surface level aesthetic trait that will immediately and accurately flag a person who appears ‘wholesome’ as Actually Very Good For Real and Actually Very Bad and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you

The only reason I was attacked and bullied by this person is because I was openly pro ship. I have squicks and NOTPs as well(Believe it or not I hate a lot of similar stuff, incest and pedo ships included, and I avoid shipping real people), but I won’t make witch hunt journals and call out posts on someone who ships something that I deem gross. People who take shipping and turn it into a new world Crusade need to seek help. I don’t condone bullying over ships. And glorifying it to justify some compensation you’re lacking doesn’t make you look a hero. Let people have their fun, it’s fiction. In the states, it’s not illegal to write or explore taboo subjects in fiction. As long as you tag your fics properly, people will avoid it. At the end of the day, fandom is supposed to be a hobby. 

I wasn’t gonna name reveal who the dangerous abuser and serial harasser was that I mentioned awhile back. But now I have no alternatives. I have already apologized for my past behavior, I have made improvements on my current behavior but this asshole doesn’t want an apology and he clearly doesn’t want me to improve my behavior, he sees me being proship as an incentive to attack and destroy. And he wants me gone. He takes no for an answer.
