back in my day we just called it minding your own business
i kind of want to elaborate on this because it seems like a lot of you really think that 1. shipping is a moral stance and 2. that me saying it’s none of my business what someone else ships means i also ship whatever they ship. if you think shipping is a moral stance or that fandom is activism, please go get involved with something in the physical world. the only thing you’re going to accomplish online is annoying a whole lot of people while burning yourself out. fandom is for making your world better. activism is for making the world itself better.
as for the second thing, i’m not going to suddenly start blogging about a contentious ship that i’ve never blogged about before, nor indicated in the slightest that i ship. my refusal to police what other people enjoy has nothing to do with my own personal thoughts on that content. if this bothers you, you can unfollow and/or block. i promise it’s okay. but if you’re just worried that i’m going to start exposing you to said content, don’t. my own personal preferences haven’t changed and on the very off-chance i do decide to blog about it at some point in the future, i promise i’ll tag it.
Man, people have no respect for fan artists. I bet if they asked Panther85, the artist would’ve allowed them to make the tattoo, but instead, they probably swiped it from those obnoxious png pirate sites.
The Do’s & Don'ts of interacting w/ content creators, & other people you don’t know well mutually I slapped together for Twitter.
This ended up being more Don'ts than Dos but I feel like people need more help learning what NOT to say once they stray away from simple compliments and questions.
Reminder for everyone ^^

This! THIS, THIS, THIS!!! This right here!!
About yesterday, the idea that Mufasa doesn’t have a meaning in Swahili took me by surprise and sounded so sketchy to me. I’ve heard a lot of hot takes before that I didn’t trust this. Somehow that did escape my attention for the longest time, and now it’s nice to know this.
I have never heard of it being Manazoto either but definitely is a fake language. However, beware the Wikipedia articles, it seems, in the characters section for now, that Scar apologists have ransacked it and filled it with non-canon information.
But Aus does have me wondering. If Disney was so determined on changing Ed and Banzai’s names in the reimagining, why didn’t they change Nala’s or Mufasa’s names as well? I can probably bet they refused to change it because it’s iconic and marketable for them. Esp with this cash-grab prequel coming out.
An anonymous source has shared this with me, and I– I have seen hot takes before but man this one’s so fucking hot it’s still steaming fresh off the griddle. I tried doing some Googlefu to find sources to back these claims, but nothing ever came up that said Mufasa was a Bantu god, one result even suggested that Mufasa was an allegory for the christian god, but every resource that Google pulled up said Mufasa had its roots in Swahili.
Is Australet that desperate for attention at this point with her misinformation or is she really just that braindead gullible into believing what everyone tells her?
My anonymous tipper has found the reddit forum that Australet claims is her source
Even it doesn’t source itself. I’m not sure where people began to think that Mufasa is Manazoto. That’s incorrect(And this is the first time I have heard of it). If they had any braincells to do some googling or looked up the people that worked on the film, they’d learn that Disney used Swahili to name the majority of the cast.
I did some further digging after getting curious, and after failing to look up the origins of this “Manazoto” language I found something even more baffling after trying to see if there was anything in Wikipedia about it.
To my surprise, there is nothing about Manazoto in Wikipedia, but it seems the whole “Mufasa is Manazoto” comes from a wikipedia article that is full of misinformation from Scar apologists ransacking it
So this whole situation is merely people believing misinformation from a wikipedia article written by toxic Scar fanatics. This is why Misinformation is dangerous.

New account that’s less than 6 hours old reposting fan art they found on the googles. Had the balls to crop out someone else’s clearly watermarked fanart and claim originul the art donut steel. I call troll with this one, personally.
Lisa’s at it once again, this time falling back onto her diet totally not Asha originul the character. Their excuse this time is changing the eye color and claiming Zira took her anger out on her instead of hyenas. The marks are still in the same place as her old ripoff character.
And if falling back on old character’s isn’t the start of it, she’s falling back on old habits as well, claiming freehand the art when she’s very clearly copying off TC again for ideas.
