Anti shippers believe that fiction affects reality in such a way that taboo stuff in fiction should not be enjoyed and that people need to be held accountable for what they like in their fake fantasies, to protect people that might be affected by that stuff happening in real life. The whole debate leads to terms getting watered down like “proshippers like bad fictional thing, antishippers hate bad thing” but really proshippers just dont think people are inherently bad for something fictional and should not be harassed, while antishippers think what you enjoy in fiction directly transfers to what you enjoy in real life, and should be treated like anyone who does that stuff irl
