Got ourselves a “traditional artist” copying off other artists for quick clout.

Copied off of @panther85-art’s YCH which is not free line art
And one of MalisTLK’s cub adopts
This is why I don’t trust “traditional artists.” Far too many of them copy off of artists online for quick efame and clout, not understanding proper fandom etiquette. Also, do note that this one claims that they’re young in their profile, using their age as a shield. They very clearly know what they’re doing and hope to use their age to avoid consequences of their actions.
To put one’s age in their profile, when one is very clearly copying off popular artists is like saying, “Please don’t hurt me, I’m brittle!”
Fandom can do a little gatekeeping. As a treat.
So I finally decided to archive-lock my fics on AO3 last night. I’ve been considering it since the AI scrape last year, but the tipping point was this whole lore.fm debacle, coupled with some thoughts I’ve been thinking regarding Fandom These Days in general and Fandom As A Community in particular. So I wanna explain why I waited so long, why I locked my stuff up now, and why I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a-okay with making it harder for people to see my stories.
Reading this kind of makes me want to lock down my fic. Because it’s all so true.
And even worse–they see us as a resource. We share our work for free, as a gift, but all they see is an open-source content farm waiting to be tapped into. We shared it for free, so clearly they can do whatever they want with it. Why should we care if they feed our work into AI training datasets, or copy/paste our unfinished stories into ChatGPT to get an ending, or charge people for an unnecessary third-party AO3 app, or sell fanbindings on etsy for a profit without the author’s permission, or turn our stories into poor imitations of podfics to be posted on other platforms without giving us credit or asking our consent, while also using it to lure in people they can datascrape for their Forbes 30 Under 30 company?
Goddamn if that didn’t hit hard.
Just watched this video on how AI content is overwhelming the internet, and it feels VERY relevant to this post.

I know AI fuckboys wanna be artists so bad, but this is ridongculous. This dude’s so deep in denial he actually thinks he dr00 this originul the urt donut steel. Note the bleeding of the grass into the haunch, the number of toes on each paw, the broke wrist on the front left paw as well as number of toes (or lack there of), the very clearly fabricated and not photographic placemat beneath it and the not photographic pencil beside it. Hell, some of the branches even look like they’re extensions of the fur! Jesus wept…
Translation: WEH WEH WEH I wanna bitch and complain at you freaks who oppress me and my brothers in christ. WEH WEH WEH I feel threatened by your opinion! WEH WEH WEH I am not a thief! WEH WEH WEH
He literally states why I hid comments on the No to AI post. It’s not gonna happen. Deal with it and move on. But these AI fuckboys, they wanna be oppressed so badly. They’re only mad because I hurwt their fee fees and they can’t lash out on the very deviation.
This lazy mf is trying so hard rn to get me to bawwlock them, it’s downright hilarious. He ain’t got the brains god give a screwdriver to understand that the no to AI image is reposted throughout the movement. Like, how can you be this fucking stupid and be able to feed and take care of yourself. It’s low key hilarious to me how desperate he’s trying by failing at trolling me 🤣 I think what makes it even funnier are his asinine ruuruus on his profile
Talk about coddled snowflake, goddamn. That’s funnier than DNI lists.
A friend showed this to me this morning(shared with their permission), and I just found it funny that drawing cartoon animals would make someone so butthurt. My dear sweet summer child, art is subjective. Art is defined as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. You saying they’re not because of the topic they chose makes you foolish, selfish, and childish.
(Come to find out, this person blocked me, too, and I don’t remember interacting with them, probably the same reason, all the more spiteful reasons to draw seductive lionesses HA)
Pretending to be an artist by editing over fan art and claiming they drew it, or straight up claiming fan art is a base.
Their instagram where they’ve posted lots of theft: https://www.instagram.com/the_female_simba/
Ain’t nothing worse than a 20 something year old pretending to be something they’re not through stealing from others. They may as well use AI with that behavior of theirs.
Yes, yes, “Because I said so,” totes means they got permission and, “You don’t even know the whole story!” is just another dodgy excuse for, “I didn’t get permission and you’re backing me into a corner!”
Update, I’ve since been bawwlocked by this adult and our conversation deleted, who swore by their say so that Kitchiki allowed them to recolor their work and claim originul the art donut steel. 20 something year olds are like children cosplaying as adults, I swear.

Art thief memelord using fan art in their meme edits without credit and deletes comments asking them to cease.

And of course he’s another brony who thinks they’re entitled to fan art.
